Stars in Brass Concert, 24th March, Steven Mead, Dave Childs and Glenn Van Looy.

Next weekend in Belgium is the Stars in Brass concert featuring Brass Band Buizingen, conductor Luc Vertommen, with guest soloists David Childs, Glenn Van Looy and myself. Not surprisingly this concert is attracting a lot of attention from euphonium players and brass enthusiasts across Europe. Each of us will play solo and duets and trios together. The trios are thought to include Wilby's Concert Gallop,  as well as Thom Stevens superb A New Carnival of Venice.

I will be performing the brass band premiere of Hermann Pallhuber's 'Bliss',  a really extraordinary work which has been performed by me with wind orchestra a couple of times already (and I'll be recording it for my new solo CD with the Central Band of the RAF in April) but I'm really looking forward to this specially arranged brass band transcription by the composer.   Glenn will perform 'Move There Mind', and David will perform 2 movements from Karl Jenkins' Euphonium Concerto.

There is a Facebook page for the concert which gives  details on the venue, start time and how tickets can be obtained: http://www.facebook.com/events/157112527725036/

We hope to see many of you there next weekend for this unique concert !
